Cookie policy
Last updated: 9 May 2026
This page explains what cookies and similar technologies are used on universitystores.co.uk and how to control them.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device. Cookies do many useful things, like keeping you logged in to services, remembering preferences, and helping site owners understand how a site is used. Some cookies come from the site you are visiting (first-party); others come from services that the site embeds (third-party).
Cookies on this site
Strictly necessary
We do not currently set any strictly necessary cookies. The site has no login, no basket, and no preferences to remember.
Analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. This is cookieless. It does not store anything on your device and does not identify you. Page visits are aggregated anonymously.
Third-party (Google Maps)
The Find us section embeds an interactive map from Google. When the map loads, Google sets its own cookies (such as NID) and may receive your IP address. We only load the Google map after you have accepted third-party cookies in our consent banner. If you decline, the map shows a cookie-free OpenStreetMap fallback instead.
Managing your choices
The first time you visit, our cookie banner asks for your consent. You can accept all, reject non-essential, or pick categories. Whatever you choose is remembered for next time. You can change your mind at any point by clicking “Cookie settings” in the footer.
You can also clear or block cookies in your browser settings. Each browser does this slightly differently; search “manage cookies in [your browser]” for instructions. Note that blocking third-party cookies will also disable the embedded Google map.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page if the cookies we use change. The “last updated” date at the top will reflect any changes.
